Work begins 12 November, so the clubhouse will be emptied over the previous weekend 10 th and 11th – any offers of help much appreciated – contact Melanie on 07790 642028. During the build (due to finish mid-January) there will be disruption. The gate by court 2 (cricket club end) will be the main entrance with usual code. Please be considerate to players on courts 1 and 2 whilst crossing over to the covered court. A portaloo will be placed in the car park. First Aid box will be in the marquee. Bring your own drinking water as no taps! LIGHTS – will only be available for Ryan’s coaching sessions and Club Nights Mondays and Thursdays. However, Ryan will turn on court 1/2 lights for members on payment of one token per half hour (from Spar shop in town) but you must be prepared to leave when he has finished his coaching session. Above all, be careful, and parents please ensure children are with you all the time. The fenced off building area is strictly out of bounds. It will be a disruption, please bear with us – the new clubhouse will be amazing! Thank you.
It looks amazing, but we must look after it. A few golden rules to keep the surface good:
Only non-marking tennis/squash shoes to be worn and absolutely no chewing gum, glass tumblers or bottles on court. During the first summer, temperatures may get high so damage to the surface could be caused. If black marks start to appear on the surface, it is important to cease playing immediately and report it to a committee member as the court will have to be closed temporarily. Thank you and enjoy!
The online booking system is up and running. Please refer to email from Tennis Club Secretary sent on 14 April for instructions on downloading the app or logging on via pc. Those with no computer access can contact the Booking Buddies – names and contact details quoted in the email.
